TREVOR HUNT CONTINUES USAC YOUNG GUN DOMINANCE WITH WIN AT VEGAS

KANSAS CITY, MISSOURI (May 31, 2011) 12 year-old Trevor Hunt scored his second straight USAC Young Guns feature of the season as the rookie driver won the 20 lap feature at the ultra-fast Las Vegas Bullring on Saturday night.  With the victory, Hunt now has three USAC wins this season and command of the overall Western points lead.

Hunt drives the #11 FVP Midget for Ron Sutton’s Winner’s Circle, a driver development program based in Sacramento.

Fighting a loose race track throughout Saturday’s practices, Hunt qualified second with a 16.315 second lap at over 82 miles per hour average.  The RSWC crew went to work on tightening the car up which paid big dividends through the heat race and feature.

“The crew gave me such a great car that I was sure I was pulling away,” Hunt said.  “I would like to thank the RSWC crew for working so hard to get the car right where I like it!”

Hunt has a nearly 200 point advantage in the USAC Western Young Guns while just eight points back in the USAC SoCal Young Guns standings.  Up next for Trevor Hunt Racing is a trip to Valley Speedway in a Micro Sprint this Friday night, before returning to the Focuses on June 11 at Madera Speedway.

“If Trevor continues to drive like this, the USAC SoCal points lead will be in his hands, just like he’s leading the other two USAC series” Driver Coach Ron Sutton said.  “His feedback on what the race car was doing allowed him to pick up nearly half a second throughout the evening and that is impressive for such a young driver!”
