Smith setting standard in American Sedan with Runoffs approaching

PhillipSmithframe3.jpgSACRAMENTO, CALIFORNIA (August 5, 2016) – Phillip Smith joined Ron Sutton Race Technology in 2015 and since then the SCCA American Sedan competitor has been a dominant force across the country.  The Manhattan business executive has driven his blue third gen 1991 Chevrolet Camaro to five poles, six wins, and to a podium in the 2015 Runoffs at Daytona.

His 2016 wins have come at some of the highest profile venues, including Mid Ohio Sports Car Course which will host the 2016 Runoffs in late September. 

Prototype Development Group achieves big gains with RSRT & Ridetech

SACRAMENTO, PDGframe.jpgCALIFORNIA (July 18, 2016) – California-based Prototype Development Group race team is a three-time Western Endurance Racing Series Champion, currently racing with Carl Rydquist from Sweden at the wheel. Despite their success, the team  yearned for more performance out of their Factory Five GTM car.  They  knew they needed a top level partner for their suspension development.  PDG found both with Ridetech and Ron Sutton Race Technology.

Whalen back to winning ways in Big Bend Open Road with RSRT

TomWhalenframe.jpgSACRAMENTO, CALIFORNIA (May 3, 2016) – Ron Sutton Race Technology helps drivers, teams, and car builders all over the nation in the Pro Touring, Autocross & Road Racing worlds.  RSRT equipment has taken its paces at world class facilities like Sonoma, Road America, and Watkins Glen, and others.  But nothing matches the speed it achieved over the weekend with Tom Whalen.

Whalen, the 74 year-old speedster, took his 2002 C5 Corvette over 200 miles per hour in the Big Bend Open Road Race in Texas.  Whalen picked up his fourth career overall victory in the unlimited class in the grueling race that sees racers cover a 59 mile stretch of US Highway 285 South.  Racers sprint from Fort Stockton to Sanderson, TX and back for a total of 118 miles of wide-open excitement. 

Viva Las Vegas for James Shipka in "One Lap Camaro"

JamesShipkaframe1.jpgSACRAMENTO, CALIFORNIA (October 27, 2015) – Driving a white 1967 Camaro dubbed the "One Lap Camaro", James Shipka and Raymonds Performance are going to Vegas!  Shipka used a second place effort in the Optima Batteries Ultimate Street Car event at Pikes Peak to qualify for November's Vegas invitational held during SEMA.

Shipka, from Calgary, Alberta, Canada, partnered with Bruce Raymond & Raymond's Performance out of Planfield, IN in 2014.  Raymond's Performance houses the car and handles all general maintenance, plus transport to Optima events and at the track support.

SACRAMENTO, CALIFORNIA (October 20, 2015) – Phillip Smith scored one of his biggest performances yet, piloting his blue 1991 Chevrolet Camaro to third in the 2015 SCCA Runoffs at Daytona International Speedway.  The runoffs were making their return to Daytona for the first time since 1964 and Smith participated in the American Sedan division.

Smith's performance wrapped up a 2015 season that included wins at Road America and Watkins Glen this year, along with three third place finishes and a fourth place effort in seven starts.

SACRAMENTO, CALIFORNIA (August 5, 2015) – Trading in his Manhattan business suit for a race suit at the famed Watkins Glen International, Phillip Smith picked up an SCCA class victory recently in his blue third gen 1991 Chevrolet Camaro.  The nationally ranked American Sedan racer has seen his program grow leaps and bounds in 2015 with suspension setup help from Ron Sutton Race Technology (RSRT).
