SACRAMENTO, CALIFORNIA (May 17, 2011) The USAC NorCal Ford Focus Midgets got underway on Saturday night at All American Speedway in Roseville with the Ron Sutton’s Winner’s Circle team having a strong showing in the first of two features held on the evening.

Ron Sutton’s Winner’s Circle is a driver development program based in Sacramento that develops drivers with the talent and potential for a career in professional Stock Car racing.

Headshot-Sheldon-Didinger.jpgThe RSWC team brought out six USAC Ford Focus midgets including three drivers who were making their debuts in the division. Veteran driver Jessica Clark led them in qualifying, running a 13.637 lap to qualify second fastest overall in the division.  Clark narrowly edged her teammate Keegan Walmer from Portland who ran a 13.642 lap.Headshot-Collin-Milroy.jpg

Leading the charge of rookies was Boyertown, PA’s Sheldon Didinger who qualified fifth ahead of teammate James Edens in sixth.  Beloit, IL’s Tanner Long and New Jersey’s Collin Milroy qualified seventh and ninth respectively. Since the evening saw a twin bill of features, no heat races were held.  Walmer and Clark ran closely with the lead throughout the early stages of the race with the top-four cars under a blanket. Milroy ran as high as eighth before he retired from the race with a broken rear end on lap 15.

Meanwhile up front, Walmer was in the midst of a heavy battle for the lead while Long ran in third. Walmer’s bid for the race win fell short as he finished second to series veteran Garrett Petersen, with Long third, Didinger fourth, Clark fifth, and Edens bringing it home in sixth in a solid debut.
